Information
Preparation:
- Jack up the car and place the four wheels gently in the center of the turning radius gauge turntables.
- Turn the ignition switch on (engine off).
Note:
- No DTCs are stored in 4WS control unit.
- The spoke angle of steering wheel is at the designated angle while driving straight.

If you have done anything in the followings, perform the electric neutral rewriting procedure for the front steering angle sensor.
- Front main steering angle sensor removal/installation and replacement.
- Steering wheel removal/installation.
- Combination switch removal/installation.
- Steering column removal/installation.
- Front sub steering angle sensor replacement.
- Steering gearbox replacement.
- Rack guide adjustment.
- Rear steering actuator assembly replacement.
- 4WS control unit replacement.
- Front/rear toe adjustment.
- Rear camber adjustment.

Information
[Mechanical neutral]
Preparation:
- Turn the ignition switch off. Do not start the engine with the rear steering center lock pin in the rear steering actuator. If the steering wheel is turned with the engine
running, the rear steering actuator will operate and be damaged.
- Install the rear steering center lock pin in the rear actuator.
- Jack up the car and place the four wheels gently in the center of the turning radius gauge turntables.
Mechanical neutral Check:
- Install the toe inspection gauge (07HGJ-0010000) on the wheels.
- Read the toe inspection gauge on each wheel and be sure that the front and rear wheels are in proper alignment. (Difference in toe gauge reading between the right and
left wheel is within specification)
- Mark to indicate straight ahead position of steering wheel at this time.
- Be sure to remove the rear steering center lock pin after the mechanical neutral check.

Preparation:
- Jack up the car and raise all four wheels off the ground. Place the safety stands in the proper locations to support the car.
- Install the rear steering center lock pin in the rear actuator.
- Turn the ignition switch on. Do not start the engine with the rear steering center lock pin in the rear steering actuator. If the steering wheel is turned with the engine
running, the rear steering actuator will operate and be damaged.
- Loosen the four rear steering actuator mounting bolts, then incline the rear steering actuator assembly toward you.
Note:
- No DTCs are stored in 4WS control unit.
- The spoke angle of steering wheel is at the designated angle while driving straight.
